| Instructions:
Season the plank with 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the hollowed
out area before you use it for the first 8 times. This will help
stop the cracking. If cracks appear, tighten the stainless steel
rods which go through the center of the plank by using a
5/16" socket wrench. Position the baking plank on the
middle rack of the oven so that cooking is even. Set the oven to
BAKE and the temperature to 350°, then place the plank in the
cold oven to heat slowly. Allow plank to heat for 10 minutes
before placing food in the hollowed out area. Set the oven to
the required temperature for the recipe after the plank has been
heated. Cooking times will vary. Faster cooking will not always
enhance the flavor. Use running water and dish soap. with a soft
bristled brush for cleaning after use. CAUTION: The baking plank
will be hot when taken from the oven - use oven mitts or a pot
holder. DO NOT leave baking plank unattended when in oven.
Baking on a wooden plank has many benefits. Your food will be
juicy, have more flavor, and be less prone to nutrient loss. No
extra fat or salt should be used. |
